I just send it to a printing shop instead.Michelle Tranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03365228934310630891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7692059176207183103.post-16708555661782758272015-07-06T09:39:41.101-07:002015-07-06T09:39:41.101-07:00Crazy, I think is the right word ;) I love how you...Crazy, I think is the right word ;) I love how you call it the 'wtf' notes!Michelle Tranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03365228934310630891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7692059176207183103.post-21296880516978644382015-07-06T09:39:05.683-07:002015-07-06T09:39:05.683-07:00Thanks! Perhaps I spend too much time doing that :P but I feel like it pays off in the end. My first drafts tend not to be as strong which is why I felt like I needed to nail out my process. And I know what you mean by being overwhelmed when it's printed. But if you look at it as a visual of your hard work, it's kind of neat!Michelle Tranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03365228934310630891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7692059176207183103.post-87252121124601778782015-07-06T09:37:01.034-07:002015-07-06T09:37:01.034-07:00I should try typing up my notes and see if it'...I should try typing up my notes and see if it's faster for me. Couldn't for a while because our printer died, but we finally got a new one, so I can do that whenever I feel like Vic and Nic are coherent enough to warrant a revision. ...Truly a beautiful process! (If not crazy, heehee)<br />I am with Mason--am about to start revising an old project.<br />I'll sometimes print mine all out, sometimes just parts I know need extra attention. Stickies are a must! And I keep a journal with all my crazy wtf notes :)Karla Gomezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17462097054509737042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7692059176207183103.post-60825558051593413602015-06-25T21:31:39.846-07:002015-06-25T21:31:39.846-07:00Wow, awesome. I find sometimes that the part of the story I struggled with the most turns out to be one of my strongest scenes after the first draft. :) I haven't printed anything out in...I don't know. 7 or 8 years. I overwhelmed myself and gave up and haven't tried it since. I do three layers of editing, but it's not nearly so sophisticated! I tend to do biggest problems first, then a read through, then a couple of line edits. I'm not very good at editing. I guess that's why my first drafts have to be so strong. I'm in awe right now. krystal janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02115542477066959046noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7692059176207183103.post-20282618523034542612015-06-25T15:10:08.293-07:002015-06-25T15:10:08.293-07:00This hits home, because I'll soon start editin...This hits home, because I'll soon start editing a recent WIP myself. ^_^ It looks like our processes are a little bit alike - it took me way, way too long to realize how important it is to print the book out and edit it with a pen in hand, instead of doing everything on the computer. I catch so many more issues reading it like a reader would. I do keep all my notes for larger changes and things to fully rewrite on the computer, though, mostly because I type a lot faster than I write.Mason T.
